Hey folks, we’ve heard from a couple of you that your bottles of Barrel Aged Heavy Boots of Lead weren’t tasting the way you expected. For most, the problem wasn’t with the beer, but with some confusion on WHAT the beer was. These bottles are the result of almost a full year of aging in neutral oak barrels (not bourbon barrels, as some excited drinkers had assumed), then blended with some young HBOL and fresh maple that was bourbon cured. The end result should be bright, tannic, chocolatey, and a little tart (though not sour). For maximum enjoyment, let your glass sit out for a half hour, and watch all the malty richness really open up.
We take quality control EXTREMELY seriously, and have taken it upon ourselves to drink countless bottles of BA HBOL. It was a tough job, but we did it for you.
