Our good friend Renee from Single Girl Cookies will be hosting a fundraiser this Saturday, 5/25 at 1pm in our taproom, to raise money for tornado victims in Oklahoma. She will be selling her delicious cookies, proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross.

When she reached out to us looking for a space to work from, it was a no-brainer.

We’ve been working on a side project that furthers our commitment to all things local and to reclaiming old materials and turning them into something useful. We reached out to a local Astoria artist to fabricate tote-bags utilizing the empty grain-sacks that we end up with after brew-days. The results were totally raw and unbelievably beautiful.

As luck would have it, we have a few prototypes of the grain-bag-totes in hand just in time for Saturday’s fundraiser. We’ve decided to donate four of them to Renee’s cause, and sell them in our taproom alongside her cookies. These particular tote-bags are one-of-a-kind and this will likely be the only time you’ll see them, as we may be changing the style and materials for future editions.

We hope you’ll join us this Saturday.
